We are proud to offer a number of benefits to our employees. So whether it's our comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, or tuition reimbursement, our commitment to their well being is our top priority.
When it comes to medical benefits, each of us have different needs and priorities. With this in mind, we offer a choice between a traditional fee-for-service medical insurance plan with a PPO network (Preferred Provider Organization) and a HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plan, with a network in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico. Employees receive prescription coverage through both plans.
We offer a dental PPO plan with a PDP (Preferred Dentist Program) network, which provides freedom of choice. Employees may go out-of-network at any time and still receive benefits. Dental insurance includes coverage for preventative, routine, and major dental expenses as well as orthodontia at competitive rates. The HMO plan in Mexico offers basic dental coverage.
Vision coverage is offered. In addition, the HMO plan offers basic vision coverage with its medical plan.
Basic life insurance is provided to employees and eligible spouse at no cost. In addition employees may to purchase additional life insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents (at competitive rates).
This plan allows eligible employees to purchase additional life insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents through payroll deductions at competitive rates.
All employees traveling on company business are covered under this plan.
This plan was specially designed to provide benefits to employees when they are disabled and prevented from performing the regular duties of their job, as a result of a covered accident or illness on a long-term basis.
All Salaried employees are eligible under the Short-Term Disability Plan. The purpose of this benefit is to provide employees with income on a short-term basis in the event that they become medically disabled.
The Prepaid Legal Plan provides employees, their spouse, and eligible dependents with access to legal services at a low fee. There are no deductibles, co-payments, waiting periods, or claim forms.
Cancer insurance supplements the group health plan. It reimburses employees for related out-of-pocket expenses.
Watkins observes eight holidays during the year. Employees will be eligible to receive holiday pay immediately after hire date. The following are designated as company paid holidays in observance of the following:
- New Year's Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
Watkins provides Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits in order to assist employees achieve a work life balance, use for a sudden illness and/or celebrate an unobserved holiday each year. We strongly encourage employees to take their full annual PTO accrual each year.
This plan enables employees to share in the success of the company by receiving a share of its profits. This contribution percentage may vary from year to year based on the company's profitability.
Each employee is enrolled in a bonus program designed to recognize their contributions. This bonus is based on job title and in some cases, pay grade and salary.
This plan allows employees to save and invest for retirement. Employees can enroll, reduce, increase, or stop the percentage of their contribution at anytime. In addition, the company matches 100% of the first 4% employees contribute to the plan.
It is our policy to grant a leave of absence (time-off) for specific reasons without loss of benefit eligibility or seniority in most cases.
- Bereavement In the event of a death of an immediate family member a bereavement period of up to 40 hours may be granted with pay. In the event of a death of grandparent/grandchild or mother/father in law, a one day leave may be granted with pay.
- Jury Duty This is a leave to fulfill a civic duty.
- Medical A medical leave may be granted due to a condition that causes a temporary medical disability.
- Military Employees who enter into active service in the armed forces will be granted a military leave for the duration of their active duty.
- Personal A leave of absence may be granted for reasons of extreme need.
- Voting Employees may be eligible for up to (2) hours of pay per voting period, to perform this civic duty.
- Family and School Leave Watkins will provide employees with up to 40 hours of unpaid time-off per school year for absences related to their involvement in children's school activities.
Watkins is concerned about the health and well being of its employees. We have established an Employee Assistance Program that provides confidential assistance when personal or relationship problems affect the employee's life and work.
Employees are provided health care for minor aches and pains from a high quality nursing staff onsite.
Watkins encourages the pursuit of continuing education. Our program provides reimbursement for eligible courses that are related to furthering education that is beneficial to the employee and company.
Watkins realizes the benefits of alternative transportation methods. We offer incentives for vanpools and public transportation subsidies.
Watkins employees are offered a variety of discounts for admission to family theme parks, wholesale stores, movie theaters, and of course our spas!
This program allows employees and in some cases immediate family members to purchase products manufactured by some of the MASCO companies and its affiliated companies at substantial discounts from retail prices.
